What does the word “hell” mean to you? In Nicaragua, there is a 70-acre garbage heap called, “La Chureca” This landfill is home to about 2,000 people. It is hell on earth. The people there spend their lives digging through trash for food or materials they can sell. Children suffer from mercury and lead poisoning, dehydration, malnutrition and parasite-related diseases on an hourly basis. Desperate families often prostitute their daughters to the truck drivers for first access to new garbage. These young girls live in constant fear of rape and abuse.
How does this make you feel? As the CEO at Sevenly, I have an opportunity to see many atrocities. So much so, that it becomes difficult to live how I do, buy what I do, and be doing what I am doing. But this week, we have crafted an opportunity for you to make a real difference for a child. We’ve partnered with Forward Edge and international charity out to fight for vulnerable children.
This week, your Sevenly purchase will help pull a young girl living in a landfill out of a life of rape, abuse & disease
Your purchase helps rescue the young girls in La Chureca by removing them from the landfill and giving them the support they so desperately need. The girls are placed in a refuge home and remain close to their families while they receive education, job placement, counseling, nutrition and love. A true solution for a true problem. Go ahead, change a life.
